You may find something similar in a 100-yen shop in Japan, or on Chinese e-commerce platforms for around 200 yen.

A field note from Shenzhen: low-cost TWS earbuds, chip decap services, and the supply chains behind “fake” hardwareI bought a pair of “Huaqiangbei AirPods” on Taobao for 67 RMB — about 10 USD at the time.

They are clearly not genuine Apple AirPods. The packaging, the pairing screen, and the overall experience are designed to look familiar, but the product itself is a completely different piece of hardware.

I visited the international UAV Expo in Shenzhen. I have been following this exhibition almost every year since the post-pandemic period around 2022, and I have also written several reports about China’s drone industry over the years. Because of that, this year’s change was very clear to me.

To be honest, for the past few years, this drone exhibition was not always the most exciting event. By around 2018 or 2019, DJI had already become overwhelmingly strong in camera drones and many types of professional drone applications. If you wanted to build a drone-based solution, the fastest answer was often simple: ask DJI, buy DJI products, and build around them.

Shenzhen Is Not a Concept. It Is an Operating System.I have spent the past years walking through Shenzhen.

Not attending conferences. Not visiting curated innovation tours. Just walking — through electronics markets, subway stations, autonomous driving zones, logistics hubs, and public science museums.

What interests me is not “innovation” as a buzzword.

It is deployment.

Technology becomes meaningful only when it operates in public space.

2018年、2019年と続けて出していた『深センの歩き方』を、2026年版として書き直した。

新型コロナで往来が止まり、ビザが必要になり、「またいつか更新しよう」と思いながら7年が過ぎた。

今回の更新は、単なる情報のアップデートではなく、ほぼ新しい初版だ。なぜ今、書き直したのかきっかけは、リアルな出来事だった。

早稲田ビジネススクールの講義で深圳を扱ったとき、実際に訪れたことがある人は、ほとんどいなかった。

講義後、「実際に行ってみたい」「どうやって回ればいいですか」という質問が何人もから届いた。

さらに、最近になって2019年版をboost付きで購入してくれた方がいた。 7年前の本を、いま手に取ってくれる人がいる。

それが、背中を押した。2019年と2026年、深圳は別の都市になっている数字だけでも十分に異常だ。地下鉄：170駅 → 441駅人口：1250万人 → 2000万人超華強北：コピー天国 → AI実装の前線でも、変わっていないものもある。

人口の6割以上が若者。移民都市。実験都市。未完成のまま走り続ける街。

深圳は、完成された未来都市ではない。常にアップデート中の都市だ。

深圳は「知る」都市ではなく「見る」都市だニュースで深圳を知ることはできる。

でも、現地でPony.aiに乗り、美団のドローン配送を見て、華強北のAIウェアラブルを触り、旗艦店でシャーシをむき出しにしたXiaomiの展示を見ると、

そこには必ず泥臭い運用と、大量の人間の試行錯誤がある。

未来は魔法ではなく、オペレーションの積み重ねだと分かる。

この「距離感」を体感するためのガイドが、今回の2026年版だ。今回のガイドはこういう本です中国が「別のOSで動いている」ことを前提にした実務ガイドスマホ前提で公共交通だけで回れる設計実際に参加できる社会実験の場所を掲載電気街だけでなく、都市計画・科学館・カルチャーまで含めた構成単なる観光本ではなく、都市の実装を観察するためのフィールドノートとして使えるのではないかもともと人気だった理由コロナ前、このガイドは毎年数百部売れていた。

理由はシンプルで、「まずこれを読んで、わからなければ聞いてください」と言える本があると、お互いにラクだったからだ。

今回も同じ思想で作った。個人版とエンタープライズ版boothにて頒布中。個人版エンタープライズ版（同一組織内コピー可・領収書可・価格5倍）内容は同じ。部署単位や視察ツアー向けに設計した。深圳は、今も面白い世界の工場、ハードウェアのシリコンバレー、AI都市。いろいろな言い方がある。

でも僕にとっては、「実装の速度を観察できる都市」だ。

そしてそれは、2019年ごろよりも今のほうが面白い。
